 Off-Roader
Cyber-Shot mobile phones are becoming increasingly commonplace, and with good reason because 1) Cyber-Shot is a name people recognise as making good cameras and 2) they flat out rock. One niche, though, that's never been filled is for... well, call it the 'off-roader' of camera phones. One that can go anywhere, and doesn't worry about a bit of rain, or even a raging sandstorm. One that lets you capture images in places other camera phones can't go.
Well, now there is: the water and dust-resistant, Cyber-Shot powered Sony Ericsson C702.
Picture Perfect
With the Cyber-Shot brand on it, it's blatantly obvious the Sony Ericsson C702 is a camera phone. And what a camera phone it is, coming in at a whopping 3 megapixels. With built in flash, video capture at 30 frames per second and a super-fast autofocus (hey, things you want to take a photo of can happen fast, out in the wilds), it's fair to say it doesn't skimp on performance.
On top of that, though, is the fact that it also includes face detection, for taking absolutely pixel-perfect portraits in seconds. Even without that, the Sony Ericsson C702 would be cool, but with that... well, it just goes to another level!

The other killer feature of the Sony Ericsson C702 is GPS; yep, that's right, sat-nav built into the phone. So, as well as taking exceptional photos in out of the way places, it'll help you find those out of way places in the first place!
Not only that, but GPS opens up another very cool feature: geotagging. Intrinsically tying in the Sony Ericsson C702's camera and GPS, geotagging lets you take a gorgeous photo of something that catches your eye, and then tag it with the location... which it then maps on your map software, allowing you to find it again (literally, in seconds) in future, and to show your friends exactly where you found that wonder of nature!
Artistic Tough-guy
So, it has a cool camera and GPS, but the thing that really sets it apart from every camera phone out there is that it is water and dust-resistant. Whereas some camera phones in the past would keel over at the merest suggestion of a bit of moisture, the Sony Ericsson C702 positively laps it up, shrugging off such tiny inconveniences as hailstorm.
So, there are two ways to think about this phone: it's either a camera phone that's been on the protein shakes and toughened up, or it's a rugged, tough phone that's acknowledged its artistic side and grown a camera. Either way, it's the fabulous, go-anywhere-and-take-stunning-photos-of-what-you-find Sony Ericsson C702.
